Michael Mahlstedt was appointed to the University of Hanover in 1992 to teach at the department Computerunterstützter Entwurf. After studying in Hamburg Michael Mahlstedt worked as Art Director and Creative Director with responsibility for the design of print campaigns and commercials.
During the late nineteen seventies, he founded the first nationwide company for video animation. In 1984 his company became the first digital post production business in northern Germany. As part of his work at the University of Hanover a number of successful interactive applications and films have been made since 1992.
